Dec 5th

We had the best of intentions of getting up in good time but are still experimenting with our atomic clock which reads the time via radio waves......I had reset the time but did not change the time zone so the clock went back to Pacific time (unbeknowst to us) so we didn't get up until 10:30am.

We had a quick coffee then put on our sneakers and headed to Las Gatas beach - there is a path along the shore but we did have some rock outcroppings to deal with along the way.  Most tourists would take a panga (small boat) from the pier in centro Zihua but the vendors and locals walk and it only took us about 15 minutes to do the same.

We walked the entire beach and were accosted along the way by many restaurants asking us to sit and eat and drink at their establishments but, of course, we wanted to see if there was something better further down the beach so chose to ignore them.  At the end of the beach is a supposed deserted expat compound that was apparently deserted in the 60's although it would appear that someone has taken it over whether or not they are squatters is undetermined and no one seems to know otherwise.

We spent several hours just lazing on the lounges, drinking the occasional cervaza, but primarily enjoying the sun and warm water.

After walking back from Las Gatas we stayed on Playa La Ropa and watched our first sunset here in Zihua.
